Everyone would agree that we are more than what people can see - "it's what's inside that counts". Our personality is a large part of how we are defined as an individual.

The person we have become is influenced by lots of different things.

Task: Think about the opportunities that are available to us today that allow us to build experiences and hence develop us as individuals. Try comparing this to people living in different centuries.

Think about:

  • Travel
  • Hobbies
  • Work
  • School
  • Homes
  • Transport
  • Communication
  • Opportunities
How would these differ for people today compared to in 1910, 1810 and 1610?
How different would we have been had we lived in these eras?
