The portraits in the exhibition used technology developed by Apollo Creative, specifically the Apollo Ensemble, which is designed for creating interactive environments. There are a large number of different software and hardware systems that could be used to create similar effects.

Technical Rehearsal

The first time the pieces were brought together was at a technical rehearsal that was held in a drama studio. This allowed space to configure all the pieces and see how they interacted. It was also the first time that the artists were able to see the different aspects of the portraits together in one piece.

After this event all the artists took their individual contributions away for tweaks. You can see some of the images from this event below.
